Dear Western States Jeepster Commando owners. I just wanted to give you a quick update on how we are progressing with the Western States Association (W.S.A.) of the JCCA. Our web page is now up and running on the JCCA site with all of our events planned with many different coordinators hosting these events. Each event is a little different thus giving all jeepster owners an opportunity to attend something out west. To view our site, log on to the JCCA main page and click on the western states site. Here you will find everything you need to know about the events and also how our association is set up. To date, we have 8 events planned for the upcoming year starting out with Moab in May, Pismo Beach in June, Big Bear in July, Swamp Lake in August, and Oregon Dunes, the Rubicon, the BBQ and a Northern Ca. foothill run all in September. The Rubicon will be a special event with a major 4 wheel drive magazine covering it (this might be your big chance to get your rig some national exposure). Another poker run for drivers and passengers is also planned for the Rubicon. This years prizes will be geared more around 4 wheel drive stuff and the passenger run will be cash again. If you would like to host an event in your area for the up coming year, let me know and I will help you get started. If you have not signed up to be a member of the JCCA, I encourage you to take a few minutes to do so. The JCCA offers full membership involvement, on line voting, open elections, a clear mission statement, and by-laws developed and voted on by its members. The JCCA web site offers an updated bulletin board service that is moderated fairly and consistently. Our BBS will let you know (if you choose) when you post on our board or a post you responded to, it will automatically send you an email letting you know the post has activity. This is a great feature for members that don’t log on to the board daily. Also on our BBS, we have a section just for WSA members to discuss whatever we think pertains to us and can only be viewed by WSA members. Our team strives on becoming the best club Jeep club on the internet. What we think makes our club different is that we started out with these values from day one. Our club is open to all who share these values regardless if you belong to other clubs. If you have reservations about joining the JCCA, please feel free to call me or even better attend one of upcoming events and then decide. You must be a JCCA member to become a Western States Association member. Our club is free to join and is funded solely by membership donations reported on the main page of the JCCA. Currently I am the acting President of the Western States Association and Diane Fletcher is acting web master (she would like to give this poison up ASAP). We think is important to fill the remaining western states officer vacancies for the upcoming year. The vacant offices are Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. If you have an interest in holding one of these offices on a temporary basis, please let me know. We will have a Western States Association election of officers in December 2006. Also, if you think there is a need for other positions let us know. What will be our down fall if we let this site evolve into a one person operation so please volunteer and get involved?
