Ken found this Hurst in a classified ad in a Denver newspaper about 1996, had been "sort of" looking for a Jeepster, the word Hurst rang a bell!!

"Went to look and drive the same night, had a trying time to keep it running to take it for a drive, finally got it warmed up enough to move more than a few feet before stalling!, transmission leaked on driveway as it was "warming up", by this time I wanted it regardless! I have a passion for driving low production what is that? vehicles. The lady wanted $2600, I offered $1800, because of the transmission leak and refusal to run until I had about run out of patience.  She took the offer, and I drove it home the next night (after it warmed up)!   I still haven't  fixed the transmission leak, just add oil now and then, after tune up, etc., still doesn't want to go until warmed up!  By now all the Bondo has fallen out of the tailgate, you don't need to look in the mirror to back up, just look through the holes in the tailgate! By the way this is a "rust free California/Arizona" Vehicle! Ha! Previous owners painted over all stripes, with house paint??  The remnants are still visible under the hood and air vent and on the remains of the tailgate. There are 1 1/2 Hurst emblems, Ken removed the hood scoop because of wind attempting to remove it for him, non-stock tachometer (editors note: it looks stock to me although I can't see the face), the seats have been recovered by PO.  It was my daily driver until a year ago, now it's relegated to snowmobile trailer duty in the winter, too many projects, not enough time (or $$$!)."
