John and Pat (my parents) bought this poor misguided soul in 2003. It is a Hurst, but someone's attempts to repaint and care for it over the years went HORRIBLY wrong. The stripes are COMPLETELY wrong, the hood scoop got painted black, etc... Now that John is retired and finished up some other Jeep projects, he plans to put some time into restoring the Hurst back to original. In March of 04' John and Pat bought the 71 Jeepster seen in the last two pictures, that will be used as a basis for the Hurst restoration. We'll keep everyone posted on their progress. And yes... that really is a plywood tailgate!
